    Day 1 - Negombo

Our representative will be waiting for you in the airport lobby to arrange your transfer to your beach hotel, conveniently located near the airport. In the evening, you’ll meet the rest of the group and the team for a briefing and drinks before enjoying the welcome dinner.

First riding day and it’s all about getting confidence with your bike, the road and the traffic. Getting out of Negombo can be chaotic and will give you a taste of the local driving style. We spend the night near the ancient capital of Anuradhapura and the Wilpattu National Park.

    • Distance: 155 km
    • Duration: 3.40 hrs

Now that you’ve had a chance to get comfortable with the bike, it’s time to dive straight into Sri Lankan culture. In the morning, we’ll ride to Anuradhapura, the ancient capital, for a guided tour on the bikes.

Later, we’ll head towards the Cultural Triangle, stopping at the iconic Avukana Buddha Statue before reaching our final destination: Dambulla. The Avukana Buddha Statue, carved from a single granite rock, stands 12 meters tall and is an awe-inspiring example of ancient Sinhalese craftsmanship. Dating back to the 5th century, this towering statue is a remarkable symbol of Sri Lanka’s rich spiritual and artistic heritage.

Once in Dambulla, if time allows, you’ll have the option to visit the famous Dambulla Cave Temple. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this temple complex features a series of stunning caves adorned with intricate murals and over 150 statues of Buddha. Dating back to the 1st century BCE, the caves are a testament to Sri Lanka’s deep-rooted Buddhist traditions and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside from their hilltop location.
